Can tds be late deposit

10 October 2011 please help out....

one of our client deducts tax at source but the data is quite huge and they are able to update the same by around 15th of next month.. So the tds interest is paid for 1 month...this come to huge amt as the tds is quite huge..

So i wish to ask you ,can the department give us a certificate to deposit the same by 20th or something of next month by submitting request for the same..

if yes then please tell the process for same.

note: incomplete payment cant be made as the cheques come from abroad.....

11 October 2011 I haven't heard of any such certificate which will give you extra days for payment of TDS...

The dates are applicable for whole of India.

You can do the following...
1. Update your database everyday.

2. In case of TDS is deducted on Payments...... then it is easily available and you can enter it in your database..

3. In case of TDS is deducted on bills credited e.g. April bill received in may.. So you can pay the TDS in Jun (Dont wait for the april bills to come, let them come in May and you can credit them in may and pay the TDS in June)

I understand the quantity of work you have,, but you have to adjust it within the stipulated time.
