qu. is- whether ROI is to be filed?
and will notification no-36/2011 dated 23-6-2011 be applicable

25 June 2012 Yes Mr. Y is required to file ROI, as he is receiving FD interest which is not exempt.Notification for non filing of return for salaried employee will not apply here as it was for such employees who has only salary income upto Rs.5 Lakhs and interest on SB interest upto Rs.10000.
