06 July 2024 Taking a transfer on medical grounds during your Articleship requires careful handling of documentation and communication with your CA firm. Here’s how you can approach it:

### Steps to Take:

1. **Medical Certificate:** Obtain a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner detailing the period of your medical condition and inability to attend office. Ensure the certificate clearly states the dates of your medical leave, even if they are from previous months.

2. **Application for Transfer:**
- Write a formal application addressed to the Principal of your CA firm requesting a transfer on medical grounds.
- In the application, explain your medical condition, the period of absence, and your request for transfer to another location or firm that can accommodate your medical needs.

3. **Include Supporting Documents:**
- Attach the medical certificate with your application. This serves as proof of your medical condition and the necessity for transfer.
- If there are any other supporting documents, such as medical reports or prescriptions, include them to substantiate your request.

4. **Date of Application:**
- Your application should be dated with the current date when you are submitting it, even though the medical certificate references past dates.
- Clearly mention in your application that you are applying for transfer on medical grounds as per the current situation.

5. **Discuss with Principal:**
- It’s advisable to discuss your application with the Principal in person or through a formal meeting. This allows you to explain your situation clearly and address any questions they may have.

6. **Follow-Up and Confirmation:**
- After submitting your application, follow up with the Principal to ensure they have received it and to discuss the next steps in the process.
- Obtain confirmation in writing regarding the acceptance of your transfer request and any further actions required.

### Additional Considerations:

- **Policy and Procedures:** Familiarize yourself with any specific policies or procedures related to medical transfers within your CA firm or institute.
- **Professionalism:** Maintain a professional tone and approach in all communications regarding your transfer request.
- **Consultation:** If needed, seek guidance from your institute’s guidance cell or a mentor for advice on how to proceed.

By following these steps and ensuring all necessary documentation is in place, you can effectively request a transfer on medical grounds during your Articleship. This approach helps ensure transparency and compliance with the procedures set forth by your CA firm or institute.
