Is it possible to file an RTI for non-receipt of C form?
I had applied for C form for one of my clients in October 2010 at Mumbai Mazgaon office and after several reminders and follow up, they have still not issued C form on one pretext or the other. The client is regular in terms of payment and filing of returns and has never defaulted on this. There is neither any other faulty technical ground for their refusal to issue.
It is frustrating now and my client's suppliers have already sent debit notes for differential VAT for no fault of theirs.!!!

Dear Friend..
I do not know about the RTI, but I will suggest you to write letter to the higher authority of that range and keep a copy of that...
This is a regular problem created by these dirty sales tax officials all over india.
Let's see what expert will comment on this.

Now in most of states statutory forms are avilable on line.Try this end also.if not make a series of correspondence,take copies of all those papers and approach higher authorities. These officials try to play hell with you because there is a time limit for filing these forms(3 months of sale.
