i am currently on a audit of a private limited company having various branches all over India, i wanted to know the important points which i should cover in Tax Audit. The suggestions would be really helpful as i wont miss on anything important......

Prepare a checklist for the audit on the basis of the clauses 7 to 32 required in Form 3CD. These are most important. Apart from this also apply the general audit principles and accounting principles whether the books are in conformity with the accounting standards or not. There are various aspects which cant be discussed right over here. But still head by head in balance sheet and profit and loss account so that you cover all areas. Also make sure that the inter branch balances are reconciled.
