28 December 2010 Dear Experts,

What should be the amount of bonus to be paid to an employee if his salary is increased from Diwali to Diwali?

Example : If a persons salary was Rs.5000/- in Nov 2009 & it was increased to Rs.12000/- from June 2010.

28 December 2010 If the bonus is based on earned salary (which is normally the case) then, he should paid as a % of that.

If the bonus is based on last salary drawn (some people do it, but rarely and mostly in their case salary is increased along with bonus payment which means it is not an issue) then he should be paid as a % of last salary.
