08 January 2014 we want to import some photo printers but i come to know that to import a printers BIS Certificate is require please give me information about how to get BIS certificate, procedure, documents which are require to get BIS certificate,

11 January 2014 BIS is the National Standards Body of India and is a founder member of ISO. BIS represents India, in ISO. The Technical Committee (TC) number 176 (ISO/TC 176), and its Sub-committees of ISO are responsible for the development of ISO 9000 standards. Quality and industry experts from India including BIS officers nominated by BIS participate in the meetings of the technical Committee ISO/TC 176 and its Sub-committees.

Organizations interested in obtaining licence for Management System should ensure that they are operating the relevant Management System according to the standard and ensure its effectiveness by conducting minimum one internal audit and one management review.

The organization should apply on the prescribed proforma (Form IV) and a supplementary questionnaire (Form V) duly filled in along with the documented Management System Manual. The application and questionnaire shall be submitted in duplicate along with necessary application fee to Dy. Director General (Regional Offices) of the Region in which the organization belongs.

14 January 2014 can we import 1 or 2 samples for our R&D purpose with out BIS certification
we want to check the quality, efficiency of the printer & want to compare to other printers
