Sir, Can you please explain what is the exact difference between an allowance and a deduction ?

Allowance is part of salary. For example House Rental Allowance. The employer is paying the employee salary but under seperate head called HRA such amounts are allowances. Deductions are like life insurance premium which you pay from your pocket.
