08 December 2009 Sir, plz clarify the working of stock exchange, means how purchase and sell transaction is settled in any stock exchange. What is Auction rolling, etc. in this regard.

10 December 2009 Dear Prateek ji,
Current rolling settlement system in stock exchange (equity segment) is T+2 i.e. Transaction date +2 days. For example if you buy on 1-Dec-2009, you will get shares on 3-Dec-2009 (extend time if there is saturday/sunday or other holiday).

As regards Auction, If you have sold shares and does not give delivery of the same, it would be settled next day of rolling settlement.

But if any investor has soly any shares without giving delivery, then how the transaction will be settled and how the buyer will get the same.
what sort of action is taken by stock exchange in this regard.
plz explain in full detail right from the beginning.
