08 March 2008 It is applicable to withdrawals in cash of Rs 50000 and above. This is what is being abolished effective 1-4-2009

08 March 2008 BCCT WAS MADE APPLICABLE ON ALL TAXABLE BANKING TRANSACTIONS EFFECTIVE 1 ST JUNE 2005@0.1% ON VALUE OF SUCH BANKING TRANSACTIONS ABOVE A CERTAIN LIMIT(INDIVIDUALS EXEMPT LATER ON PUBLIC UPROAR.
THE LIMIT FOR COMPANIES WAS UP FROM RS.50000 TO RS. 100000 LATER)
IT IS WITHDRAWN WEF 1ST APRIL 2009 .
