Availing Cenvat Credit!!!Urgent sir

18 July 2010 One of our client who is a manufacturing one...says that he is not claiming Cenvat Credit on inputs because he has to keep all the records in tact.
1. Please tell me what are the records to be kept for claiming Cenvat Credit on input?
2.How to convince him that it is always better to claim Cenvat Credit on input?
