Dear Sir,
An Auditor signed a audit report of private limited company on 30/10/2014 and submit the reports along with audited financial statement on above mentioned date.
But, the director who is a signatory to financial statement (also a shareholder) intentionally change the date of audit report and audited financial statement as 30/09/2014 (back dated)with out the knowledge of Auditor.
Now, the auditor came to know the fact and he now wishes to withdraw from his engagement (resign) and wants to get back the all signed reports and statements.
Query:
1. Can the auditor do so like above?
2. What is the remedy for auditor?

Once audit report issued to assessee auditor can not get back his report so easily.
Here director altered the date of the report which is offence . Auditor have the right to go through the advocate to settle this issue instead of demanding for return of audit report.
