04 May 2016 In TDS challan instead of AY 2017-18, it was selected AY 2016-17.
Is there any way to correct it ?

04 May 2016 With due respect to Murtaza Bhagat Sir, I want to update that Bank can correct it Within 7 days from challan deposit date if it was paid manually before 01-09-2011 otherwise you have to contact Assessing Officer for this correction.

this is not a big mistake your challan will be rectify and also your return will be reprocessed thats way you can have your solution.

05 May 2016 You need to submit a letter to your Income Tax AO for correction in challan data along with the photocopy of the challan.Required Format for Correction of Section can be as follows

Sub: Request for Correction and/or rectification of Assessment Year in challan.

Sir,

This is to inform you that while making payment of Self Assessment Tax of Rs……………..for the AY 20XX-XX i wrongly mentioned the AY 20XX-XX in ITNS 280 / 281.

I, therefore, request you to kindly make the necessary correction in your records. I am also enclosing a photocopy of the said challan.

I sincerely regret for my inadvertent mistake.
