02 January 2010 We got the notice u/s 143 of AY 2007-08, i want to know upto which date AO has to pass assesssment order? What shall be procedure of passing of order? whether order shall be passed and to be served before due date? or same can be passed before date but issue for postage after due date?

Kindly confirm date for passing assessment order for a.y.2007-08 carefully.

02 January 2010 The AO can pass the orders till 31-12-2007 for the ay 2007-08 u/s 143(3) under normal ciorcumstances.
