04 January 2011 Plz give me some xamples of Plan assets wherein companies invest to provide employee benefits...
(as per AS-15)

04 January 2011 Plan assets are nothing but investments (mainly mutual funds and such) and some qualified insurance policies in which an enterprise will invest its employee benefit obligations. These funds are not available for company's creditors. Mostly these are managed funds, managed by third party wealth management companies like Fidelity Investments etc. Hope this helps!

04 January 2011 Plan assets are the investments made by the pension plans. They are mostly in the form of debt mutual funds and a very small portion is invested in equity and that too a in high net worth cos. The main objective being a regular return than capital appreciation.
