02 March 2011 Sir/Maam,

I had few doubts regarding articleship. Is it better to join Tax or Audit dept? Which has more scope and opportunities and which has a lesser work-load??

Also could you brief me about the nature of work that is done in both these departments.

Also, I cleared my group 1 IPCC exam in Nov 2010. Can i join articles in June after writing my group 2 exam or is it that only at the time when results are declared can students join articleship??

03 March 2011 First of all I will answer your second question. To start your articleship the min. requirement is to clear the 1st grp of IPCC that u hv already fulfilled by passing the Nov.10 attempt.

03 March 2011 TAX V/s Audit Deptt.
(1) Work load- As u r a CA student so you s'd not think abt. this factor. If u r geeting more work then it means u have more chance to learn new things.
(2)Which Dept. to join??-
CA s'd be an expert of both Taxation and Accounts. You can start with any dept. and after spending a good time you can swap your place with the article working in other Deptt.
