I have undergone 9 months training in one firm and the balance in another. My query is whether the excess leaves will be counted for the 3 years together or will it be counted separately for 9 months period And 2 years 3 months.
In my case i have excess leaves for the first 9 months but in total it does not exceed 156, so do i have to go for extension.

Your total leaves in aggregate for 3 years will be considered. Since it is below 156, you don't have to go for extension.
