06 May 2014 my articleship complete on 20 august 2014.but my ca told me to give extention for 1 or 2 months? why i have not taken big leaves in articleship.is it proper action of ca ? advice me. what reason. i have not given exam in my artcleship?

06 May 2014 The CA is not authorized to do so. One can extend articleship only on account of extra leave taken against what is permitted by the Institute. Writing exams or not has no impact on the articleship period. You can complain at the ICAI qouting the membership number of your CA in writing.

07 May 2014 totally agreed with Neha ji with regards to illegality of your Principal's actions.

however, I would avoid filing a complaint. Just Fill Form 119 and submit it to ICAI along with a copy to your CA. that should suffice.

07 May 2014 sir,
can i download 119 from icai web? is it valid for filing ?or i have to purchase from icai sales counter? plz take time to explain further procedure. how to fill details(imp) according to u& sir told me that problem occurs when we complete ur articleship on 20 august 14. is it proper reason to give extension?

07 May 2014 Although u can download Form 119 from the ICAI website, you should also make your principal aware that what he did is not correct and you can file a complain for that. CA profession runs on integrity and trust. Just because of few CAs, now a days the profession ethics is doubted always. If nobody speaks against an unjust behaviour, profession shall degrade in the future.

2. Why I suggest 119 instead of complaint is because i believe we have better things to do instead of running around ICAI with complaints against CAs, when rarely does ICAI side with intern.

07 May 2014 Its about improving our career vs improving our career along with the profession. Being an old faculty with the Institute and having worked with few senior members of the ICAI, I can vouch that ICAI takes such complains very seriously. Anyway, it is a personal opinion and one can do what he/she likes.

If it is so, then we should definitely promote honest disclosures. My personal experiences and the experiences in the surroundings have not been that great with regards to complaining with ICAI.
