09 December 2007 Is it good to join big firms/ or small firms?i know the +'s and _'s of both.keeping in mind the study schedule,will any medium sized firm fit for doing articleship? big firms though add a lot to our C.V.? pls advice.I'm confused!! i got 79% in CPT.

Please come out of euphoria brought in by others in respect of Big Firms. The right place for energetic learners can definitely be Mid Size firms only. In big firms you lose your individuality due to pre structured systems and larger hierarchy. A right mid size firm will give you opportunity to learn (provided you are interested) everything right from record maintenance till giving final touch to appellate forum papers. I have personally interviewed big firms products who lack a lot in several areas since they specialised in some specific area only. Please take adequate care in ensuring that the mid size firm you select, has got versatile clientele and your direct seniors are reasonably caring and friendly. All the best.
