I have taken membership of ICAI. Now I want to take certificate of practise. What is the procedure for the same. What are the forms to be submitted?
Can I form proprietorship is some other name, instead of my own name?

You have to apply in Form 6 to take COP.
If you want to start Proprietorship Firm than you have to apply for Firm Name in Form 117.
After you get your Firm Name approved from ICAI, you will get e-mail for the same. Apply in Form 18 for registration of your Firm within 30 days of approval of your firm name. You will have to attach print of e-mail with Form 18.

Do i need to submit Form 6 and Form 117 together along with fees of Rs. 2,000 at regional office or do i need to send it to delhi?
Someone informed me that I have to submit Form 6 at regional office then form 117 at delhi.
Please clarify how to go ahead about it. I have all the forms with me, only where and when to submit is an issue.

You are correct Form 6(along with fees) is to be submitted at Regional Office and Form 117 at Delhi.
Once you get the mail from ICAI regarding approval your firm name, send Form 18(attach print of mail approving firm name) at your regional office. Otherwise Condonation fees would be applied.
