05 June 2014 VAT becomes applicable in the following cases:
1. When within the state turnover of purchases or sales exceeds Rs. 5,00,000. or
2. When interstate turnover exceeds Rs. 1,00,000

The turnover limits with respect to manufacturer or trader are same.
