31 July 2012 A subscriber has availed leased line service of BSNL. At the time of making payment of bill to BSNL, it is intimated by BSNL not to deduct tax at source, since section 194J is not applicable on payment made by subscribers to telecom companies.

whether tds is to be deducted by the subscriber or not on payment of leased line charges to telecom companies.

kindly provide reference to any notification or case laws.
