Notification Date: Maharashtra government issued Order No. 5 / Stamp No. 21 /Case No. 06/Twenty16/480/Twenty21 on October 27, 2021, clarifying applicability for bank guarantees, confirmed in a 2023 circular. or Bank Guarantees (including both Advance and Performance):
Up to ₹10 lakh: Stamp duty is 0.1% of the guarantee amount (minimum ₹100).
Above ₹10 lakh: Stamp duty is 0.2% of the guarantee amount.
For certain types of collateral (e.g., title deeds deposited as security), above ₹5 lakh stamp duty increases to 0.3%, with a maximum cap for certain documents.
