Dear Sir,
We have take a godown on rent for material dumping, because of my factory godown is full. so pls. tell me about the applicability of service tax on rent.
because the owner of godown charged service tax in monthly rental bill.
the rent is Rs. 120000/-
service tax 12360/-
total 132360/-

yes is is applicable

yes service tax is applicable on rent. you also need to check whether landlord quoted service tax registration no. on invoice.
