I just wanted to ask that whether a CA student allowed to pursue CS along with CA or not??

19 November 2011 ICSI does not restrict if you are doing CA. But ICAI restrict, that you can do only one other course with CA.

ICAI have cancelled Articleship of many students. So be cautious

19 November 2011 Actually I am doing bcom honrs frm du by correspondnce and will be starting my articleship from 1st decmbr. Can i do CS with CA or do i need to obtain permission from ICAI ??

19 November 2011 one course is always allowed to do with ca. if you are doing bcom or any other course then don't go for cs.

but you need to take permission fron ICAI in form no: 112, for any other studies. if you don't take permission they may cancel your articleship or may not issue membership number after clearing ca final exams. so be carefull and intimate ICAI in time.

in any way, for doing a course along with CA, you need to take permission from ICAI in Form no: 112.

21 November 2011 As to my opinion, there is nothing good than CS along with CA.

If you opt for "any other" course, you are definitely going to loose. As I am a Company Secretary, I know very well, how much dignity CS profession possess. You should take permission from ICAI to do this course. As course in B.com, CA and CS are very similar, it will definitely give benefit.
