26 March 2014 Hi Ashutosh,

Amortisation is the same process as depreciation, only for Intangible assets (i.e. patent, trade mark, goodwill etc.)

What we provide for Tangible assets (which we can see and touch) is called depreciation and for Intangible assets it is called Amortisation.
