10 December 2009 Application for adjournments will be sent to the authority who is hearing the case.

Either the assessee himself or any of the partner or director or any person authorized by him/firm/company who is either his employee or a practising CA/CS/ICWA or Income Tax practitioner; can sign such application.

Generally two-three adjournments are allowed by the authority.
