Addition of new warehouse address under iec code

28 November 2012 Is it mandetory to add new warehouse address under IEC code. If I have IEC code on my office address.

My office is under Octroi limit & the new warehouse is out side octroi limit.
I would like to import all the goods at new address at the earliest.

28 November 2012 It is mandatory to register new office or branches with DGFT if any import or export of goods at or from new office or branches etc.

U need to apply in From ANF 2A for modification with proof of new warehouse like Rental agreements, Electricity or telephone bill etc along with necessary fees.

28 November 2012 Thank you sir for your guideline. What would be the penalty if I delay in applying for inclusion of new warehouse. As of now one of our shipment is already departed from China to India and it has been addressed on new delivery address. It will reach by 15th Dec.in India Please guide how can I make it fast to avoid any violation

28 November 2012 On request the customs may allow the shipment with new address one or few times.
It is better to include the new address in IEC certificate for smooth imports.

Note: Penalty in case of delay will not be applicable in case of Inclusion/Deletion of branches/divisions/factory address
