ALL MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL

Madam/Dear Sir,

A. I wish to inform you that the President, in terms of the authority given to him by the Council at its 276th meeting held from 2nd to 5th February, 2008, has constituted a Group to look into the matters arising incidentally on the introduction of the Accounting Technicians Course including transition provisions etc. with the following composition :-

1. CA. Jaydeep N. Shah, Convener
2. Shri Vijay Kapur, Director
3. CA. R. Devarajan, Additional Director of Studies (Special Grade)
4. Shri M.A. Razak, Additional Director, DCO, Mumbai
5. Shri V. Sagar, Joint Secretary (M&SS)
6. Shri R.J. Mishra, Executive Officer, DCO, Kanpur

CA. R. Devarajan, Additional Director (Special Grade) will also act as the Secretary to the Group.

The President has requested the Group to submit its report at the earliest possible.

A copy of the Notification No. 1-CA(7)/123/2008 containing draft regulations issued for publication in the Official Gazette seeking objections/suggestions from all concerned on the proposed Course is enclosed. In other words the amendments are in exposure stage.

B. The President in terms of the authority given to him by the Council at its 276th meeting held from 2nd to 5th February, 2008, has appointed CA. V. Murali, FCA, Chennai, Council Member as a Member of the Committee on Accounting Standards for Local Bodies, w.e.f. 29th August, 2008.
