about 10 lakh limit for service tax

07 May 2011 sir,
if one house given on rent whose 5 co owners ,they all are Family member (husband,spouse ,2 child & brother)if they are registered with different service tax number then can they claim 10 lakh limit for each co owner for not to levy & collect service tax on service provided by each co owner up to 10 lakh.

07 May 2011 As per given information this is seems that co ownership based on HUF and you all are member of HUF. Now you have to pay service tax collectively.

You can not get exemption individual basis.

If you have ser. Tax no. individually.yes u can avail the 10 lac exemption.The question remains 'if your turnover is not above 10 lac,Why u got registered.provide total turnover of individual.if all these are above 10 lac.They will have to charge & pay ser.tax
