05 June 2013 VAT of Last year i.e Oct 2011-March 2012 is paid in the current year i.e April 2012 so can we claim the expense in the Current year i.e F.Y 2012-13 ???

05 June 2013 If Payment is actually made on or before the due date of submission of return of income under sec 139(1), then you can claim in year FY 11-12.

05 June 2013 Payment is made in the month of April 2012 but we did not claim the expense in FY 2011-12 so can we claim in FY 2012-13 ???

05 June 2013 yes. you can claim the expenses in the previous year in which it is paid. but it shall be specifically disallowed u/s 43b in the tax audit report of F/Y 2011-12
