11 April 2012 26Q is the TDS return form to be submitted on quarterly basis for TDS on Expenses other than salary. Whatever TDS is deducted and deposited during any quarter has to be submitted/uploaded in Form 26Q to NSDL quoting PAN of the deductees. Only then the deductees get the credit for TDS. Also it is mandatory for a deductor to file return u/s 200 of I.T.Act 1961.

i.e. contract,rent,commission,brokerage, Professional service etc. etc.

you have to fill as per guide give in FVU Utility Software given by NSDL and other software developers

It is very important because if TAN holder don't file TDS return then the person whose tds is deducted can not claim Income tax or refund so it is very important to file tds return in its prescribed time
