i received intimation u/s 143(1) for A.Y 2012-13 0n 20dec 2012..through email. File was displaying as damaged file..so i waited for hardcopy..as no hardcopy is received until yet so i come to conclusion no demand or arrears of tax.

M i right??

09 April 2013 143(1) intimation in hard copy shall not be issuing by the the IT department. In case if you want to re-send of your 143(1) intimation either through email or through post i.e hard copy then you can place a request at www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in

You are saying you received damaged file intimation copy so better to place a request for re-send it. As well as with knowing the facts we can't come to conclusion as assuming no demand are arrears of tax.

So to know is you have any demand or any arrears of tax you can know it at www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.

after login into your account with your pan at the incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in under My Account option you can know your refund or demand status as well as you can place request for 143(1) re-send request.

So follow the above process and then decide and confirm no demand or arrears of tax.
