hi Experts.
CAn anyone tell me is it compulsory to receive tax audit fee by cheque

There is no rules as such. but it is advisable to take tax audit fee through cheque and not by cash. but if it is small amount and exceptional then you may take in cash.

There is no such requirement i think to received fees. If could be received in any form.

There is no complusion to receive the Tax Audit fee in Cheque.
If the Tax audit fee bill is more say Rs.30000/- & more, it shall be paid through cheque. Inother case it can be even in the form of Cash.
(As we are the Tax Auditors, atleast we will be advising the client & follow the same)
