My friend received a notice from Income Tax Department, dated 10/4/2017. The subject of the notice is non filing of ITR-FY- 2014-15. Information Description in the notice is ‘Deposited Cash of Rs.10, 00,000 or more in a Savings bank account- FY-2014-15. As per the notice a copy of acknowledgement is required to be submitted to the office of the undersigned within 20 days of notice.

What to do in this case? Please help me.

15 May 2017 Draft and Submit a suitable reply providing details of source of cash deposit along with the copy of acknowledgement of the said return. In case return has not been filed state the reason for not doing so.
