ITR Filing - Audit Case -DSC is compulsory or not - FY 23-24

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
An individual taxpayer filed their ITR-3 after the audit report deadline, using e-verification. However, the portal now states a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is compulsory for e-verification in this audit case. While DSC is mandatory for partnership firms, it's generally not for individuals, who can typically use Aadhaar OTP or net-banking for verification. The user is seeking clarification on whether the portal's error is correct for their specific situation.

16 October 2024 ALTHOUGH AUDIT REPORT WAS FILED BEFORE 7.10.24, ITR FILED ON 15.10.24 ONLY WITH E VERIFICATION PENDING. NOW WE TRY TO E-VERIFY THE ITR THE PORTAL SHOWS ERROR SAYING DSC IS COMPULSORY IN THIS CASE FOR E VERIFICATION. IS IT CORRECT ?

16 October 2024 What is the nature of the assessee?
Which ITR was filed?

17 October 2024 STATUS IS INDIVIDUAL AND ITR 3. FOR PARTNERSHIP FIRM IT WAS COMPULSORY. I HAVE ALREADY FILED 2-3 RETURNS ALSO WITHOUT DSC PRIOR TO 30.9.24 AND ALL ARE INDIVIDUAL CASES AND ITR 3 FORMS.

17 October 2024 It is not mandatory for individuals, it can be e-verified with Aadhar otp also.
Try verifying it with Net-banking option.
