is there any difference between registered ownership and beneficial ownership of shares ?

03 June 2013 beneficial owner is the person who gets the benefit from the securities.
yes there is a difference the person in whose name shares are registered is owner of share, but it may be for the benefit of some other person who will be called beneficial ownership.

unless otherwise specified, while reading law books it is assumed that the beneficial owner is the same who is the registered one.
