HUF Dissolution

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies stamp duty charges for HUF dissolution in Mumbai. While a formal partition deed typically incurs a 2% stamp duty in Maharashtra, a family settlement can avoid this cost. However, for immovable property, a family settlement might not always be suitable, especially if the property is intended for sale soon. The advice leans towards a registered partition deed for long-term clarity if a family settlement isn't viable.
