When you commit to something then the question of quitting should never arise. You just have to be better in that field each and every day. Excuses won't make you great after your commitment to your goal.
If you have left a chapter uncovered and you see a question in your exam from that chapter then it's your choice to spoil the paper over that one question or focus on the rest of the paper.
