Wrong e filing of ITR1

I HAD EFILED ITR1 ON 14.04.2011 FOR MY SELF ASSESMENT WHICH WAS PERTAINING TO AY. 2011-2012

BUT I WRONGLY CREATED XML FILE BY USING THE UTILITY FOR AY 2010-2011 & FURTHER UPLOAD THE SAME BY SELECTING WRONG AY 2010-2011 TAB

RETURN IS FOR NIL TAX

CAN SOMEONE GUIDE ME HOW TO RECTIFY THE MISTAKE..

02 May 2011 You should have waited for the new forms to come for AY 2011-12. Anyways, now if you have not sent the e-filing ITR-V to Bangalore then do not send it because in that case it would be deemed that return was never filed. Also you didn't mention wether earlier u had filed return for AY 2010-11 or not. If not then u can send the ITR-V and it will treated as belated return. If u had earlier filed the return and also u have sent the ITR-V to bangalore then I think they wont process the return until it is a revised one.

Now just wait for the online facility for AY 2011-12 and then file ur return accordingly.

THANKS FOR YOUR VALUABLE ADVICE.ACTUALLY I WASN'T FILED ANY ITR BEFORE AY 2011-12. THIS WAS FIRST TIME WHEN MY GTI CROSSED B.E.L.

I HAD ALREADY SENT THE ITRV TO CPC BANGALORE & RECEIVED BY THEM.

SHOULD I LET THEM PROCESS THAT RETURN AS BELATED FOR AY 2010-11. OR I SHOULD REVISE THE SAME. & WHAT WOULD B THE CONSEQUENCES OF THAT.

02 May 2011 I think u have submitted ur income for AY 2011-12 but filed in AY 2010-11. Is it?

Now as it is belated return for AY 2010-11, it cant be revised now. I would sugeest that u should not worry about that now and wait for the online facility for AY 2011-12 and file ur return on time.
