Title mismatch

16 July 2016 Dear Sir,
An Assesse whose title in PAN Card in Raut and in Savings Bank Account it is Routh. Now in A.Y. 2016-17 he wants to file income Tax Return with the title Raut in PAN card and he is also having refund which would be credited to the Savings account where his title is Routh. So can there be any problem to get refund for different title in PAN Card and in Bank Account.

Please reply it's urgent.

16 July 2016 Tax refund will be credited to saving account directly, as such there should not be any problem. Once & for all you have to get your PAN amended (if Routh is correct). Only you can verify which one of Raut or Routh is correct. For this please refer to your records/high school mark sheet / Passport etc & take necessary decision for correction in PAN, if required.

The Title Raut is correct which is there in the PAN Card of the Assesse but in savings account is it is wrongly mentioned by bank as Routh. So please tell whether it would create any problem for getting Refund amount from IT Department as he would show in the IT Return for A.Y. 2016-17 as Raut which is in PAN Card but when Deptt will see the title difference with PAN card and bank details can it it be of any problem to get Refund.

Please let me know. Your valuable reply would be very helpful for the Assesse.

19 July 2016 As earlier told in case of online payment online Bank A/c & IFSC/MICR codes are matched. You have to give application to bank for said correction.
