NSE IS UNDOUBTEDLY A BETTER PLATFORM IN TRANSPARENCY,VOLUMES AND OF MODERN PRACTICES AND DERIVATIVE TRANSACTIONS.
BSE IS THE OLDER OF THE TWO BUT DID LAG IN TRANSPARENCYAND CLOUDED IN CONTROVERSIES AND EVEN IN INSIDER TRADINGAT ONE TIME.
THE LISTING REQUIREMENTS FOR A COMPANY'S SHARES TO BE TRADED ON NSE ARE MORE STRINGENT THAN IN BSE.
BSE INDEX SPEAKS OF 30 SHARES.
NSE OR NIFTY INDEX SPEAKS OF 50 SHARES.IS THIS NOT A BETTER AVERAGE RESULTING IN BETTER REFLECTION OF MARKET DEPTH AND WIDTH??

Mumbai, Sept 13: The trading volumes touched a record high even as traders and funds booked their profits. BSE reported an all-time volume of Rs 7831 crore (beating the previous peak of Rs 7650.76 crore scaled on February 29,2000), while NSE witnessed a trading volume of Rs 9574 crore.
