Stipend or salary for md/mbbs

In Maharashtra MD doctors get stipend during their internship which is fully exempt. However, they have to work for one year as per bond in institutions like ESIS, etc. after completion of course
This is to be treated as salary or stipend since internship period is over but degree is dependant on completion of one year compulsory posting.

It is stipend only since there is no employer and employee relation during that relevant period.
