Status of demand

After demand notice issued by IT department and payment of this demand is made than also there is demand is showing in "pending action''. It is very confusing that after successful payment there is demand so what is the status of payment ? and what are the steps one has to take which makes clear that there is no outstanding demand and it is necessary to revise the return after demand is paid ?

Go on same link and check the option that you are not agree with this demand, then after a window will appear asking that you paid the demand and fill the Challan no. amount date. after then this demand will not appear on IT portail.
