what is the difference between face value and offer price?

Alka,
Fave Value is the nominal value of the shares. eg. Rs. 10.
whereas the offer price is the price for which the shares are offered for sale by the company. Eg. Just Dial Limited, in its IPO offered the shares having face value Rs. 10 at an Offer Price of around Rs. 540
