whether service tax credit can be availed levied on civil work

Basically it needs to be seen as to in which service the service falls. If the service is construction of commercial complex & if output tax is paid as per abatement notification then No CENVAT credit can be taken. IF the service is classifiable under Works Contract Service then INput service tax can be availed as credit.
