Regarding wrong TDS section

17 January 2011 We found the Salary TDS of Rs. for Nov.10 was paid U/S 94C instead of 92B while making E-payment.Please guide us on this matter.

17 January 2011 Write a letter to your local TDS ward officer and ask them to make the correction.

Mumbai.

Dear Sir,

Sub: Rectification of Nature of Payment in Challan
Ref: TAN

With reference to the above we would like to state that we had made an online payment of tax deducted at source on 07th JAN, 2011 vide challan no. 12345, BSR Code: 0290454 from ABC Bank of India.

While making the above payment there was a mistake by us in nature of payment. Instead of choosing 92B in the nature of payment we had made payment against 94B. The copy of said challan is enclosed herewith for ready reference. Hence we kindly request you to change the nature of payment from 94B to 92B.

Kindly make the above changes at the earliest in your records.

Your early action in the above matter will be highly appreciated. We shall be gald to provide you any further details as may be required by you.
