Regarding aop status

26 February 2019 Sir,
Actually My Grand Father had started a partnership firm in 1987, that time he had applied for pan card through a Advocate he got a pan card (No:- AAAAJXXXXX), he had done Firm registration from Bihar Firm Registrar Under 1932 Act 58(1) till there no issue.
But last year when i had changed my Bank, and applied for other current account then came to know that My Pan is registered under AOP (Association of Person) and i having partnership firm registration certificate.
Now we are puzzled what to do, we can't change pan card because of Balance Sheet. Please provide me advise.

Greetings.
As shared, what is the 4th and 5th letter of the PAN you are talking about and also share the name of the firm.
Association of Persons is a legal status, conferred by Income Tax, to certain categories which may have different organisational setup like Partnership firms, Society etc.
Once you share the said letter from the PAN, I would be in a better situation to handle your query.

27 February 2019 Sir Pan Card No 4TH LETTER IS "A" and 5th letter is "J".

01 March 2019 See, if 4th letter is A than the PAN is issued under Association of Person status.
But as per available records, there is not form or direct procedure available to amend the status of a PAN.
Just login to your e-Filing Portal and check the status once.
