last year I have file my return (2009-10) throgh online,& there was Rs 8000\ as refunf on my file for the said A.y. is there a way to ask\claim for the refund, now for A.y 2009-10 refunf are being given,

The taxpayer can track the status of its refund from the Departmental Website www.incometaxindia.gov.in / NSDL-TIN website www.tin-nsdl.com by clicking on “Status of Tax Refunds”.
Refund status can be tracked by entering the PAN and Assessment Year for which refund is to be tracked.
Status of the refund can also be tracked by contacting the help desk of SBI’s at toll free number: 18004259760 or email at: – itro@sbi.co.in.

If you have filed online return, then you can check by below process :-
The Centralised Processing Centre of the Income Tax Department here has processed over 26 lakh e-filed returns in Forms 1-4 for the assessment year 2009-10. It has determined refunds in over five lakh cases. A release said refunds are being sent through State Bank of India.
There are two option to know your status of Income Tax Return filed online without digital signature or say Status of ITR-V sent by Post to Bangluru
1. Login on the Income Tax e-filing Portal www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in and follow the following steps
Login to the e filing site with your pan and password.
Go to the “My Account ” tab
In drop down menu under My account Tab click ” e- filing processing status”
In next screen fill you ITR-V acknowledgement Number and Select your assessment year.
You will get status of your return/ITR-V processing status in next screen
To know the status of Income Tax Return filed online without digital signature or say Status of ITR-V sent by Post to Bangluru- Click the below link and put pan no and click.
