27 August 2010 i received the notice of income tax department u/s 143 (2)with the return of income tax submitted by 25th sep. 2009 for the assessment year 2009-10. this case has been selected through CASS.

27 August 2010 You case for F. Y. 2008 - 09 has been selected for scrutiny through CASS i. e. computer assissted scrutiny selection.

27 August 2010 IF YOU FILED RETURN ONLINE THEN OBVIOUSLY YES IT IS SELECTED THROUGH CASS.

27 August 2010 bansalji before efiling was made compulsory also returns were being selected for scrutiny through CASS and also manual return filing is also selected through CASS. So it has nothing to do with efiling.

27 August 2010 OK, BUT THE SAMETHING HE HAS MENTIONNED IN QUESTION ALSO THAT case has been selected through CASS. I.E HE WANT TO KNOW FULL FORM OF CASS.
